Welcome to Church of the Apostles

We are an Episcopal Church located in Oro Valley.  Our Church can be found at Tangerine Road and North La Cholla Boulevard.

While we are a in a new building, we practice an ancient faith.  We find our connection to God, to the Divine, through Jesus Christ.  Our Sunday mornings are filled with worship that is fresh and new, yet we follow the tradition of the apostles.  We continue in their teaching, in prayer and in the breaking bread together.

We welcome all to join us, no matter where you are in your journey with God. Our Sunday services are wide ranging, just like the members of our congregation.

Sunday worship begins at 7:30 am with a traditional language service.   The second service takes place at 9:00  and draws from our familiar Book of Common Prayer,  Rite II.  Our last service is at 10:30am, contemporary in language and music.

Learn about us from these web pages, or better yet, come and join us on a Sunday.  We will be here, modern-day Apostles, ready to welcome you and your family.

Megan
Dear Friends in Christ,

Our families are already registering for classes and making plans to return to college. The Teachers in or midst are returning to their own planning and expectations for a new School year. We are beginning to restart our own engines of learning here at Apostles in August.

We will be gathering for our Late Summer Class Tuesday morning, August 17 on the Lost History of Christianity.

On August 15 I will be starting a four part sermon series on the Apostles - Friends of Jesus and Leaders in the Early Church. We have activities for our teens and families this month too.

In asking "What does it mean to be an Episcopal Church in Oro Valley?" We begin to see the answer. It means a chance to return to our early church roots. It means we seek to draw closer to Jesus not just in our weekly worship and daily prayers, but in our understanding. We seek a transforming relationship
with God in Jesus. "Faith seeking understanding" is part of the journey. But summer and fall are also a time for service. There was a sacrificial outpouring of ministry for our VBS program. Apostles continues to fill the ICS baskets and needs of the hungry in our community during these hot months. We still visit
the sick and dying and school tutors will be going back to "work" shortly.

Life at Apostles of late seems to have an ebb and flow: of service and prayer; worship and education. These pages have more on our many fall endeavors!

Yours in the Light of Christ,

Pastor Megan
